Psalm 91

1Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High abides in the shadow of the Almighty.

2I will say of Yahweh my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.

3For he will deliver you from the fowler's snare and from the destroying pestilence.

4He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will take refuge; his faithfulness is your shield and rampart.

5You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day.

6nor the plague that moves in darkness, nor the destruction that lays waste at midday.

7A thousand will fall by your side, and ten thousand by your right hand; it will not approach you.

8You will look only with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked.

9Because you have made Yahweh, my refuge, the Most High, your dwelling place.

10No harm will overtake you, nor will any plague come to your home.

11For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.

12They will lift you up on their hands, lest you strike your foot against a stone.

13You will tread upon the lion and the adder, trample the young lion and the dragon.

14Because he delights in me, I will rescue him. I will exalt him, because he knows my name.

15He will call to me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in distress, I will rescue him, and I will exalt him.

16I will fill him with long life and let him see my salvation.
