Psalm 9

1I will praise Yahweh with all my heart; I will declare all your wonders.

2I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.

3When my enemies turn back, they stumble and perish before you.

4For you have vindicated my justice and my cause; you sit on the throne judging righteously.

5You rebuked the nations, destroyed the wicked, and wiped out their name forever and ever.

6O enemy, desolations have ceased forever; you have uprooted cities—their memory has perished with them.

7Yahweh sits forever, establishing his throne for judgment.

8He judges the world in righteousness; he judges the peoples in uprightness.

9Yahweh will be a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of distress.

10Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Yahweh, have not forsaken those who seek you.

11Sing praises to Yahweh who dwells in Zion; declare among the peoples his deeds.

12For he who seeks blood remembers them; he does not forget the cry of the afflicted and meek.

13Be gracious to me, Yahweh; behold my misery from those hating me, you who raise me from death's gates.

14that I may proclaim all your praises in the gates of daughter Zion; I will rejoice in your salvation.

15The nations sank in the pit they made; their foot was caught in the net they hid.

16Yahweh has revealed himself by the judgment he performed; the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.

17The wicked shall turn back to Sheol, all the nations that forget God.

18For the poor will not be forgotten forever, nor the hope of the humble and afflicted perish forever.

19Arise, Yahweh; let man not prevail; let the nations be judged before you.

20Yahweh, put dread in them, that the nations may know they are mere men. Selah.
