Psalm 114

1When Israel departed from Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of foreign speech.

2Judah became his sacred place, Israel his dominion.

3The sea saw and fled; the Jordan turned backward.

4The mountains leaped like rams, the little hills like lambs.

5Sea, why did you flee? Jordan, why did you turn back?

6Mountains, did you leap like rams, little hills like lambs?

7Tremble, earth, before the Lord, before the God of Jacob.

8who turns the rock into a pool of waters, the flint into a spring of waters.
