Psalm 6

1Yahweh, do not rebuke me in your anger, nor discipline me in your wrath.

2Be gracious to me, Yahweh, for I am languishing; heal me, Yahweh, for my bones are terrified.

3And my soul is greatly dismayed. You yourself, Yahweh—how long?

4Return, Yahweh; rescue my soul and save me for your mercy's sake.

5For in death you are not remembered; in Sheol, who will praise you?

6I wear myself out with sighing; all night I flood my bed, melting my couch with tears.

7My eye is consumed by grief; it wears out because of all my adversaries.

8Turn away from me, all you evildoers, for Yahweh has heard the voice of my weeping.

9Yahweh has heard my supplication; Yahweh will accept my prayer.

10All my enemies shall be ashamed and greatly terrified; they shall turn back, ashamed suddenly.
