Psalm 143

1Yahweh, hear my prayer; listen to my supplication. In your faithfulness answer me, in your righteousness.

2Do not enter into judgment with your servant, for no one alive is righteous before you.

3For the enemy pursues my soul; he has crushed my life to the ground and made me dwell in dark places like the dead of old.

4My spirit fails within me; my heart within me is desolate.

5I remember days from long ago; I meditate on all your deeds; I ponder the work of your hands.

6I spread out my hands to you; like thirsty land, my soul thirsts for you. Selah.

7Answer me quickly, Yahweh; my spirit fails. Do not hide your face from me, lest I become like those who go down into the pit.

8Let me hear your steadfast love in the morning, for I trust in you. Show me the way in which I should walk, for I have lifted my soul to you.

9Rescue me from my enemies, Yahweh; to you I have taken refuge.

10Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; your good Spirit will guide me in the land of uprightness.

11For your name's sake, Yahweh, give me life; in your righteousness, bring my soul out of distress.

12In your mercy cut off my enemies, and destroy all who afflict my soul, for I am your servant.
