Psalm 53

1The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They have become corrupt and loathsome in injustice; there is none who does good.

2God looks down from heaven upon the sons of men to see if there is one who understands, one who seeks God.

3All have turned aside together; they have become filthy. There is no one who does good—no, not even one.

4Do evildoers have no knowledge, devouring my people as they eat bread and not calling on God?

5There terror seized them where no terror was, for God has scattered the bones of those who encamp against you; you have shamed them, because God has rejected them.

6Who will give salvation to Israel from Zion? When God returns the captivity of his people, Jacob will rejoice, and Israel will be glad.
