Psalm 62

1My soul waits silently for God alone; from him comes my salvation.

2He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I will not be greatly shaken.

3How long will you plot destruction against a man, all of you slaying him like a leaning wall, like an overthrown fence?

4They plot only to topple him from his high position; lies please them; with their mouths they bless, but from their hearts they curse. Selah.

5My soul, wait silently only for God, for my hope is from him.

6He alone is my rock and my deliverance, my stronghold. I will not be shaken.

7My salvation and my glory are in God; the rock of my strength and my refuge is in God.

8Put your trust in him at all times, people; pour out your heart before him. God is a refuge for us. Selah.

9Surely common people are but a breath, noble people a lie; in the scales they go up together, lighter than a breath.

10Do not trust in oppression and robbery; do not become vain in riches, for if they increase, do not set your heart on them.

11Once God spoke; twice I have heard this: that strength belongs to God.

12To you, Lord, belongs mercy, for you repay every person according to his deeds.
