Psalm 21

1Yahweh, the king rejoices in your strength, and in your salvation how greatly he exults!

2You have given him the desire of his heart, and not denied the request of his lips. Selah.

3For you meet him with good blessings; you place a crown of fine gold upon his head.

4He requested life from you, and you gave it to him—length of days forever and ever.

5His glory is great in your salvation; splendor and majesty you bestow upon him.

6For you array him with blessings forever and make him glad with joy in your presence.

7For the king trusts in Yahweh, and through the kindness of the Most High he will not be shaken.

8Your hand will find all your enemies; your right hand will find those who hate you.

9You will make them like an oven of fire in the time of your presence, Yahweh; in his anger he will swallow them up, and fire will consume them.

10You will destroy their fruit from the earth, their seed from the sons of men.

11For they aimed evil at you; they devised a scheme they cannot accomplish.

12For you will make them turn their back when you direct your bowstrings against their faces.

13Exalt yourself, Yahweh, in your strength, so we will sing and praise your power.
