Lumin Translation

Psalm 42

As a deer pants for watercourses, so my soul pants for you, God.

My soul thirsts for God, the living God. When shall I come and see the face of God?

My tears have become my food day and night, while they say to me every day, "Where is your God?"

These things I remember and pour out my soul upon myself, for I went with the throng and led them to the house of God with shouts of joy and thanksgiving, the celebrating multitude.

Why are you bowed down, my soul? Why disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise him for the deliverances of his presence.

My God, my soul is downcast within me; so I remember you from the land of Jordan, the Hermons, from the hill Mizar.

Deep calls to deep at the sound of your waterspouts; all your breakers and billows have passed over me.

By day Yahweh commands his steadfast love, and at night his song is with me—a prayer to the God of my life.

I say to God my rock, “Why have you forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of enemy oppression?”

Like a sword in my bones, my adversaries taunt me while they say to me every day, "Where is your God?"

Why are you downcast, my soul? Why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise him, the salvation of my countenance and my God.
