Lumin Translation

Psalm 72

God, give your justice to the king, and your righteousness to the king's son.

He will judge your people righteously, and your afflicted justly.

The mountains shall bear peace to the people, and the little hills by righteousness.

He will judge the afflicted of the people, save the children of the needy, and crush the oppressor.

They will fear you as long as the sun and the moon last, generation after generation.

He will descend like rain upon mown grass, like showers sprinkling the earth.

The righteous will flourish in his days, and peace will abound until no moon remains.

He shall reign from sea to sea, and from the river to the ends of the earth.

Desert dwellers shall bow before him, and his enemies shall lick the dust.

The kings of Tarshish and the islands will bring back tribute; the kings of Sheba and Seba will present gifts.

All kings will bow before him, and all nations will serve him.

For he will deliver the needy who cries for help, and the afflicted one, who has no helper.

He will show compassion on the poor and needy, and save the lives of the needy.

He will redeem their lives from deceit and violence, and their blood will be precious in his sight.

He will live, and gold from Sheba will be given to him; they will pray for him continually, and bless him all day long.

May a handful of grain be upon the land, on the heights of the mountains; its fruit sway like Lebanon, and those from the city flourish like grass of the earth.

His name shall endure forever; before the sun his name shall continue. They shall be blessed in him; all nations shall bless him.

Blessed be Yahweh God, God of Israel, who alone does wonders.

Blessed be his glorious name forever, and may his glory fill all the earth. Amen and amen.

The prayers of David son of Jesse have ended.
