Psalm 16

1Protect me, God, for I take refuge in you.

2You have said to Yahweh, "You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you."

3For the saints who are in the land—they and the noble ones—all my delight is in them.

4Their sorrows will abound for those who hasten after another; I will not pour their drink offerings of blood, nor take their names upon my lips.

5Yahweh, my allotted share and my cup, you uphold my lot.

6The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; indeed, a beautiful inheritance is mine.

7I will bless Yahweh abundantly, who has counseled me; even my reins instruct me in the nights.

8I have placed Yahweh continually before me, because he is at my right hand—I shall not be shaken.

9Therefore my heart rejoices, and my glory is glad; even my flesh dwells securely.

10For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol, nor let your holy one see corruption.

11You will show me the path of life; in your presence is fullness of joys, and delights forever in your right hand.
