Psalm 132

1Yahweh, remember for David all his afflictions.

2how he swore to Yahweh and vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob

3I will not enter the tent of my house, nor go up onto my bed.

4I will not give my eyes sleep or my eyelids slumber.

5until I find a place for Yahweh, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.

6Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah; we found it in the fields of the forest.

7We will enter his dwellings; we will bow down at his footstool.

8Arise, Yahweh, to your resting place—you and the ark of your strength.

9Let your priests be clad in righteousness, and let your faithful ones cry out joyfully.

10Because of your servant David, do not turn away the face of your anointed.

11Yahweh swore to David in truth; he will not turn from it—from the fruit of your body I will set upon your throne.

12If your children keep my covenant and my testimonies that I teach them, their children too will sit on your throne forever.

13For Yahweh has chosen Zion; he has desired it for his dwelling.

14This is my rest forever. Here I will dwell, because I have desired it.

15I will greatly bless her provision; I will fill her poor with bread.

16I will array her priests in salvation, and her godly ones will shout for joy.

17There I will cause a horn to sprout for David; I have prepared a lamp for my anointed.

18I will clothe his enemies with shame, but upon him his crown will flourish.
