Psalm 41

1Blessed is the one who gives thought to the needy; Yahweh will deliver him in the day of evil.

2Yahweh will keep him and give him life, bless him and he shall be blessed on the earth, and you will not give him to the soul of his enemies.

3Yahweh will uphold him on his languishing bed; you have restored his entire bed in his sickness.

4I said, "Yahweh, show me grace; heal my soul, for I have sinned against you."

5My enemies are saying bad things about me: "When will he die, and his name be destroyed?"

6And if he comes to visit me, he speaks lies; his heart gathers evil to itself; when he goes outside, he tells it.

7All my enemies whisper together against me; against me they devise evil for me.

8A wicked matter clings fast to him, and once he lies down, he will not rise again.

9Even my close friend, in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has raised his heel against me.

10But you, Yahweh, show me grace and restore me, so I may repay them.

11By this I know that you delight in me, for my enemy does not exult over me.

12As for me, you sustain me in my integrity and station me before you forever.

13Blessed be Yahweh God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and amen.
