Psalm 129

1They have greatly afflicted me from my youth; now let Israel say.

2They have greatly distressed me from my youth, yet they have not prevailed against me.

3Plowmen have plowed my back; they have lengthened their furrows.

4Yahweh is righteous; he has cut the cords of the wicked.

5Let all who hate Zion be ashamed and turn backward.

6Let them be like the grass on the roofs that dries up before it grows up.

7which does not fill the reaper's hand, nor the sheaf-binder's bosom.

8Neither do the passersby say, "Yahweh's blessing to you; we bless you in the name of Yahweh."
