Psalm 106

1Praise Yah! Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his kindness endures forever.

2Who can recount the mighty deeds of Yahweh, who can proclaim all his praise?

3Blessed are the keepers of justice and the doer of righteousness at all times.

4Remember me, Yahweh, with the favor toward your people; visit me with your salvation.

5that I may see the good of your chosen, rejoice in the gladness of your nation, glory with your inheritance.

6We sinned along with our fathers, acted perversely, and behaved wickedly.

7Our fathers did not consider your wonders in Egypt; they did not remember the abundance of your kindnesses, but rebelled at the sea, the Red Sea.

8He saved them because of his name, to make his mighty power known.

9He rebuked the Red Sea and dried it up, then led them through the depths like a wilderness.

10He saved them from their foe's hand and redeemed them from the enemy's hand.

11The waters covered their enemies; not one of them remained.

12They believed his words and sang his praise.

13They hastily forgot his deeds; they did not wait for his counsel.

14They craved intensely in the wilderness and tested God in the wasteland.

15He granted them their request, but sent leanness into their soul.

16They grew jealous of Moses in the camp, and of Aaron, Yahweh's holy one.

17The earth opened and swallowed Dathan, and covered Abiram's assembly.

18Fire burned in their assembly; the flame devoured the wicked.

19They fashioned a calf at Horeb and bowed down to a molten image.

20They exchanged their glory for the form of an ox that eats grass.

21They forgot God, their Savior, who accomplished great things in Egypt.

22Wonders in the land of Ham, and dreadful deeds by the Red Sea.

23He threatened to destroy them, had Moses, his chosen, not stood in the breach before him to turn away his wrath from destroying them.

24They despised the desirable land; they did not believe his word.

25They grumbled in their tents and did not heed Yahweh's voice.

26He raised his hand to them to cast them down in the wilderness.

27to cast down their offspring among the nations and scatter them in the lands.

28They clung to Baal-Peor and ate the sacrifices of the dead.

29They roused his anger with their doings, and the plague broke out among them.

30Phinehas stood up and interceded, and the plague was restrained.

31And it was reckoned to him as righteousness for generation after generation forever.

32They angered him at the waters of Meribah, and Moses suffered for their sakes.

33Because they rebelled against his spirit, he spoke rashly with his lips.

34They did not destroy the nations Yahweh had told them about.

35They mingled with the nations and learned their deeds.

36They served their idols, and these became a snare to them.

37They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons.

38They poured out innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters whom they sacrificed to Canaan's idols, and the land was defiled with blood.

39They defiled themselves with their actions and whored in their doings.

40Yahweh's anger burned against his people, and he abhorred his inheritance.

41He delivered them into the hand of the nations, and their enemies ruled over them.

42Their enemies crushed them, and they were humbled under their hand.

43Many times he delivered them, but they rebelled by their counsel and were brought low in their iniquity.

44He saw their anguish when he heard their cry.

45He remembered his covenant for them and relented according to the abundance of his kindnesses.

46He granted them compassion in the sight of all their captors.

47Save us, Yahweh our God, and gather us from the nations to thank your holy name and glory in your praise.

48Blessed be Yahweh God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting, and let all the people say, "Amen." Praise Yah!
