Genesis 5

1This is the book of Adam's generations. In the day God created man, he made him in the likeness of God.

2He created them male and female, blessed them, and named them Adam on the day of their creation.

3Adam lived a hundred and thirty years and fathered a son in his likeness, like his image, and named him Seth.

4Adam's days after he fathered Seth were eight hundred years, and he fathered sons and daughters.

5All the days that Adam lived came to nine hundred thirty years, and he died.

6Seth lived a hundred and five years, and fathered Enosh.

7Seth lived eight hundred seven years after fathering Enosh and fathered sons and daughters.

8All Seth's days were nine hundred twelve years, and he died.

9Enosh lived ninety years and fathered Kenan.

10Enosh lived eight hundred fifteen years after fathering Kenan and fathered sons and daughters.

11Enosh lived nine hundred five years in all, and he died.

12Kenan lived seventy years and fathered Mahalalel.

13Kenan lived eight hundred forty years after fathering Mahalalel and fathered sons and daughters.

14All the days of Kenan were nine hundred ten years, and he died.

15Mahalalel lived sixty-five years and fathered Jared.

16Mahalalel lived eight hundred thirty years after fathering Jared and fathered sons and daughters.

17All Mahalalel’s days were eight hundred ninety-five years, and he died.

18Jared lived a hundred sixty-two years and fathered Enoch.

19Jared lived eight hundred years after he fathered Enoch, and fathered sons and daughters.

20All Jared's days were nine hundred sixty-two years, and he died.

21Enoch lived sixty-five years and fathered Methuselah.

22Enoch walked with God after fathering Methuselah three hundred years and fathered sons and daughters.

23All of Enoch's days were three hundred sixty-five years.

24Enoch walked with God, and he was no more, because God took him.

25Methuselah lived 187 years and fathered Lamech.

26Methuselah lived seven hundred eighty-two years after he fathered Lamech and fathered sons and daughters.

27All the days of Methuselah amounted to nine hundred sixty-nine years, and he died.

28Lamech lived one hundred eighty-two years and fathered a son.

29He named him Noah, saying, "This one will comfort us from our work and from the toil of our hands, from the ground that Yahweh has cursed."

30Lamech lived after fathering Noah five hundred ninety-five years and fathered sons and daughters.

31Lamech's days in all were seven hundred seventy-seven years, and he died.

32Noah was five hundred years old, and Noah fathered Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
