Genesis 46

Israel set out with all that he had, came to Beersheba, and offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.

God said to Israel in visions of the night, "Jacob, Jacob." He said, "Here I am."

He said, "I am God, God of your father. Do not fear going down to Egypt, for I will make you a great nation there."

I will go down with you to Egypt, and I will certainly bring you up too, and Joseph will lay his hand on your eyes.

Jacob arose from Beersheba, and the sons of Israel carried their father Jacob, their little ones, and their wives in the wagons Pharaoh had sent to carry him.

They took their livestock and their possessions, which they had acquired in the land of Canaan, and came to Egypt: Jacob and all his descendants with him.

He brought with him to Egypt his sons and his sons' sons with him, his daughters and his sons' daughters, and all his descendants.

These are the names of Israel's sons who came to Egypt: Jacob and his sons, Reuben, Jacob's firstborn.

Issachar's sons: Tola, Puah, Job, and Shimron.

Zebulun's sons were Sered, Elon, and Jahleel.

These were Leah's sons, whom she bore to Jacob in Padan-aram, along with his daughter Dinah; all the persons—his sons and his daughters—numbered thirty-three.

Gad's sons: Ziphion, Haggi, Shuni, Ezbon, Eri, Arodi, and Areli.

Asher's sons were Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, Beriah, and their sister Serah; Beriah's sons were Heber and Malchiel.

These are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to his daughter Leah, and these she bore to Jacob—sixteen persons.

The sons of Rachel, Jacob's wife, were Joseph and Benjamin.

Manasseh and Ephraim were born to Joseph in the land of Egypt, whom Asenath, daughter of Poti-pherah priest of On, bore to him.

And Benjamin's sons were Bela, Becher, Ashbel, Gera, Naaman, Ehi, Rosh, Muppim, Huppim, and Ard.

These are the sons of Rachel born to Jacob: fourteen souls in all.

These are the sons of Bilhah, whom Laban gave to his daughter Rachel, and she bore them to Jacob: seven persons in all.

All the persons who came with Jacob into Egypt, those who came forth from his loins, excluding the wives of his sons, all the persons were sixty-six.

Joseph’s sons who were born to him in Egypt were two persons; all the persons of Jacob’s household who came to Egypt were seventy.

He sent Judah ahead of him to Joseph to show him the way to Goshen, and they came into the land of Goshen.

Joseph harnessed his chariot and went up to meet his father Israel in Goshen. He came before him, fell on his neck, and wept on his neck at length.

Israel said to Joseph, "Now let me die, after seeing your face, since you are still alive."

Joseph said to his brothers and his father's house, "I will go up and tell Pharaoh, and say to him, 'My brothers and my father's house, who were in the land of Canaan, have come to me.'"

These men are shepherds, for they have been herdsmen, and they have brought their flocks, their cattle, and all that they have.

It will happen when Pharaoh calls you and says, "What is your work?"

You shall say, "Your servants have been cattlemen from our youth even until now, both we and our fathers," that you may dwell in the land of Goshen, for every shepherd of flocks is an abomination to the Egyptians.
