Leviticus 27

1Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

2Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, "When a man makes a special vow, persons shall be for Yahweh by your valuation."

3Your valuation for a male from twenty years old to sixty years old shall be fifty shekels of silver, by the sanctuary shekel.

4But if she is female, your valuation shall be thirty shekels.

5And if from a five-year-old even to a twenty-year-old, your estimation shall be twenty shekels for a male and ten shekels for a female.

6And if from a month old up to five years old, your valuation for a male shall be five shekels of silver, and for a female your valuation shall be three shekels of silver.

7And if from sixty years old and upward, if a male, your valuation shall be fifteen shekels, and for a female ten shekels.

8But if he is poorer than your valuation, then he shall stand before the priest, and the priest shall value him according to what the hand of the one who vows attains; the priest shall value him.

9If it is an animal from which they present an offering to Yahweh, everything anyone gives from it to Yahweh becomes holy.

10He shall not exchange it or replace it, a good one for a bad one or a bad one for a good one; but if he does exchange one animal for another, then both it and its substitute shall be holy.

11But if any unclean animal that they do not bring from it to Yahweh as an offering, then he shall station the animal before the priest.

12The priest shall value it, whether good or bad; according to your estimation, priest, so shall it be.

13But if he indeed redeems it, then he shall add a fifth to your valuation.

14When a man consecrates his house to Yahweh as holy, the priest shall appraise it, whether good or bad; as the priest appraises it, so shall it stand.

15But if the one who consecrates it redeems his house, then he shall add one fifth of the money of your valuation to it, and it shall be his.

16If a man consecrates to Yahweh part of a field he possesses, then your valuation shall be according to its seed: a homer of barley seed at fifty shekels of silver.

17If he consecrates his field from the Jubilee year, it shall stand according to your valuation.

18But if he consecrates his field after the Jubilee, then the priest will compute the silver for him according to the remaining years until the Jubilee year, and it will be subtracted from your valuation.

19If the one who dedicated the field redeems it, then he shall add one fifth of the silver of your valuation to it, and it shall belong to him.

20If he does not redeem the field, or if he has sold the field to another man, it shall not be redeemed any more.

21The field shall be holy to Yahweh when it goes out in the Jubilee, like a devoted field; it shall be the priest's possession.

22And if he consecrates to Yahweh a field he has purchased, which is not from the land of his possession,

23Then the priest shall calculate for him the worth of your valuation up to the Jubilee year, and he shall give your valuation on that day, holy to Yahweh.

24In the Jubilee year the field shall return to him from whom it was bought, to him to whom the possession of the land belongs.

25All your valuations shall be by the shekel of the sanctuary; twenty gerahs shall be the shekel.

26Only the firstborn among animals that becomes firstborn to Yahweh—no man shall consecrate it, whether an ox or a sheep; it belongs to Yahweh.

27But if it is an unclean animal, then he redeems it according to your valuation and adds a fifth to it; or if it is not redeemed, then it is sold according to your valuation.

28However, any devoted thing that a man devotes to Yahweh from all he owns—whether person, animal, or field of his property—shall not be sold or redeemed; every devoted thing is a holy of holies to Yahweh.

29No person devoted to destruction whom one devotes from among humankind shall be ransomed; he shall surely be put to death.

30Every tithe from the land, from the seed of the land or the fruit of the tree, is Yahweh's; it is holy to Yahweh.

31And if a man redeems any of his tithe, he shall add a fifth to it.

32Every tithe of cattle and flocks, whatever passes under the rod, the tenth is holy to Yahweh.

33He shall not examine whether it is good or bad, nor shall he exchange it; but if he does exchange it, then both it and its exchange shall be holy—it shall not be redeemed.

34These are the commandments that Yahweh commanded Moses for the children of Israel on Mount Sinai.
