Leviticus 14

1Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

2This will be the law for the leper on the day of his purification: he will be brought to the priest.

3The priest shall go out of the camp, and the priest shall see—behold, the plague of leprosy has been healed from the leper.

4The priest shall command two living clean birds, cedar wood, crimson worm, and hyssop to be taken for the one being cleansed.

5The priest shall command the slaughter of one bird in an earthen vessel over running water.

6He shall take the living bird, the cedar wood, the scarlet worm, and the hyssop, and dip them and the living bird in the blood of the slaughtered bird over the living waters.

7He shall sprinkle seven times on the one being cleansed from leprosy, purify him, and release the living bird over the open field.

8The one being cleansed shall wash his garments, shave all his hair, and bathe in water; then he shall be clean. Afterward he shall enter the camp but dwell outside his tent seven days.

9On the seventh day he shall shave all his hair from his head and his beard and his eyebrows, every hair; he shall wash his clothes and bathe his body in water, and he shall be clean.

10On the eighth day he shall take two unblemished lambs, one unblemished year-old ewe lamb, three tenths of fine flour for a grain offering mixed with oil, and one log of oil.

11The priest performing the cleansing shall cause the man being cleansed and them to stand before Yahweh at the entrance of the tent of meeting.

12The priest shall take one lamb and present it as a guilt offering, along with the log of oil, and wave them as a wave offering before Yahweh.

13He shall slaughter the lamb in the place where he slaughters the sin offering and the burnt offering, in the holy place, for the guilt offering stands to the priest as the sin offering does; it is most holy.

14The priest shall take some of the blood of the guilt offering, and the priest shall put it on the tip of the right ear of the one being cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.

15The priest shall take some oil from the log and pour it into the palm of his left hand.

16The priest shall dip his right finger in the oil on his left palm and sprinkle some of the oil with his finger seven times before Yahweh.

17The priest shall put some of the remaining oil on his palm onto the lobe of the right ear of the one being cleansed, and onto the thumb of his right hand, and onto the big toe of his right foot, over the blood of the guilt offering.

18What remains of the oil on the priest's palm he shall place on the head of the one being cleansed, and the priest shall make atonement for him before Yahweh.

19The priest shall perform the sin offering and make atonement for the one being purified from his impurity; afterward he shall slaughter the burnt offering.

20The priest shall offer up the burnt offering and the grain offering on the altar, and the priest shall make atonement for him, and he shall be clean.

21But if he is poor and his means do not suffice, then he shall take one lamb for a guilt offering as a wave offering to make atonement for him, and one tenth of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering, and a log of oil.

22And two turtledoves or two young pigeons, whatever his means extend to; one shall be a sin offering, and the other a burnt offering.

23He brings them on the eighth day for his purification to the priest, to the entrance of the tent of meeting before Yahweh.

24The priest shall take the lamb of the trespass offering and the log of oil, and the priest shall wave them as a wave offering before Yahweh.

25He shall slaughter the lamb of the guilt offering, the priest shall take some of the blood of the guilt offering and apply it to the lobe of the right ear of the one being cleansed, to the thumb of his right hand, and to the big toe of his right foot.

26The priest shall pour some of the oil into the palm of his left hand.

27The priest shall sprinkle some of the oil from his left palm with his right finger seven times before Yahweh.

28The priest shall apply some of the oil in his palm to the lobe of the right ear of the one being cleansed, to the thumb of his right hand, and to the big toe of his right foot, upon the place of the blood of the guilt offering.

29Whatever oil remains on the priest's palm he shall place on the head of the one being cleansed, to make atonement for him before Yahweh.

30He shall offer one from the turtledoves, or from the young pigeons, whatever his hand attains.

31whatever his hand can afford—one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering with the grain offering. The priest shall make atonement for the one being cleansed before Yahweh.

32This is the law of the one who has the plague of leprosy, whose hand does not attain his cleansing.

33Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

34When you come into the land of Canaan, which I give you for a possession, I will put a leprous plague in a house in the land of your possession.

35Then he whose house it is shall come and declare to the priest, saying, "Like a plague it appears to me in the house."

36The priest shall command them to empty the house before he enters to view the plague, so nothing in the house becomes unclean; afterward the priest shall enter to view the house.

37He looks at the plague, and there it is in the walls of the house: sunken streaks, greenish or reddish, whose appearance is lower than the wall.

38The priest shall go out from the house to the entrance of the house and close up the house seven days.

39The priest returns on the seventh day and looks, and if the plague has spread in the walls of the house,

40The priest shall command them to remove the stones containing the plague and hurl them to an unclean place outside the city.

41He shall have the house scraped on the inside all around, and they shall pour out the dust they scraped off outside the city into an unclean place.

42They shall take other stones and set them instead of those stones, and he shall take other mortar and plaster the house.

43If the plague returns and spreads in the house after he removes the stones, and after scraping the house, and after plastering it,

44The priest shall come in and see, and behold, the plague has spread in the house; it is a fretting leprosy in the house—it is unclean.

45He shall tear down the house, its stones, its timbers, and all the house's mortar, and carry them outside the city to an unclean place.

46Anyone who enters the house during all the days it is shut up becomes unclean until evening.

47Whoever lies down in the house must wash his clothes, and whoever eats in the house must wash his clothes.

48But if the priest enters and sees that the plague has not spread in the house after it was plastered, the priest shall pronounce the house clean, because the plague is healed.

49To cleanse the house he shall take two birds, cedar wood, scarlet worm, and hyssop.

50He slaughters the one bird in an earthen vessel over living water.

51He shall take cedar wood, hyssop, the scarlet worm, and the living bird, dip them in the blood of the slaughtered bird and in the living waters, and sprinkle the house seven times.

52He shall cleanse the house with the bird's blood, with living water, with the living bird, with cedar wood, with hyssop, and with the scarlet worm.

53He shall release the living bird out of the city into the open country, make atonement for the house, and it shall be clean.

54This is the law for every leprous plague and for scall.

55and for a garment's leprosy, and for a house.

56and for a swelling, and for a scab, and for a bright spot.

57to instruct when it is unclean and when it is clean. This is the law of leprosy.
