Leviticus 3

1If his offering is a peace offering from the herd—whether male or female—he shall present it without defect before Yahweh.

2He shall place his hand on the head of his offering and slaughter it at the entrance to the tent of meeting, and Aaron's sons the priests shall sprinkle the blood around the altar.

3He shall offer from the sacrifice of peace offerings a fire offering to Yahweh, the fat covering the entrails and all the fat that is on the entrails.

4He shall remove both the kidneys and the fat on them by the loins, and the caul on the liver with the kidneys.

5Aaron's sons shall burn it on the altar atop the burnt offering that lies on the wood atop the fire—a fire offering, a soothing aroma to Yahweh.

6If his offering to Yahweh as a peace offering is from the flock—male or female—he shall present it without blemish.

7If he presents a lamb as his offering, then he shall offer it before Yahweh.

8He lays his hand on the head of his offering and slaughters it before the tent of meeting, and Aaron's sons sprinkle its blood all around on the altar.

9He shall bring near from the sacrifice of peace offerings an offering by fire to Yahweh: its fat, the unblemished rump alongside the backbone, he shall remove it; and the fat covering the innards, and all the fat upon the innards.

10He shall remove both kidneys and the fat on them, which is on the loins, and the caul on the liver with the kidneys.

11The priest shall burn it on the altar; it is food for the fire offering to Yahweh.

12If his offering is a goat, he shall present it before Yahweh.

13He shall lay his hand on its head and slaughter it before the tent of meeting, and Aaron's sons shall sprinkle its blood all around on the altar.

14He shall offer from it his offering, a fire offering to Yahweh: the fat covering the innards, and all the fat on the innards.

15And the two kidneys, and the fat on them and on the loins, and the caul on the liver and on the kidneys, he shall remove.

16The priest shall burn them on the altar; it is food for the fire offering, a soothing scent; all the fat belongs to Yahweh.

17An eternal statute for your generations in all your dwellings: you shall not eat any fat or any blood.
