Leviticus 18

1Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

2Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, 'I am Yahweh your God.'

3You shall not follow the practices of the land of Egypt where you dwelt or the practices of the land of Canaan where I am bringing you, nor walk in their statutes.

4You shall execute my judgments and observe my statutes, walking in them: I am Yahweh your God.

5You shall keep my statutes and my ordinances; the man who does them shall live by them: I am Yahweh.

6None of you shall approach any flesh of his flesh to uncover nakedness: I am Yahweh.

7Do not expose your father's nakedness or your mother's nakedness; she is your mother—do not expose her nakedness.

8Do not uncover the nakedness of your father's wife; it is your father's nakedness.

9Do not uncover your sister's nakedness, your father's daughter or your mother's daughter, whether born in the house or born outside; do not uncover their nakedness.

10You shall not uncover the nakedness of your son's daughter or your daughter's daughter—even their nakedness—for theirs is your own nakedness.

11Do not uncover the nakedness of your father's wife's daughter born to your father—she is your sister.

12You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father's sister; she is your father's flesh.

13You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother's sister, for she is your mother's flesh.

14Do not uncover the nakedness of your father's brother; do not approach his wife—she is your aunt.

15You shall not uncover your daughter-in-law's nakedness; she is your son's wife. You shall not uncover her nakedness.

16Do not uncover the nakedness of your brother's wife; it is your brother's nakedness.

17You must not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter, nor take her son's daughter or her daughter's daughter to uncover her nakedness—they are her close kin; it is lewdness.

18You shall not take a wife to her sister to afflict her by uncovering her nakedness while she lives.

19Do not approach a woman to uncover her nakedness during her period of uncleanness.

20You shall not lie with your neighbor's wife to sow your seed, to defile yourself with her.

21You shall not give any of your offspring to pass through to Molech, nor defile the name of your God; I am Yahweh.

22You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.

23You shall not give yourself sexually to any beast to become unclean with it, nor shall any woman present herself before a beast to mate with it; it is confusion.

24Do not defile yourselves with any of these, for the nations I am driving out from before you defiled themselves with all of them.

25The land became defiled, so I avenged its iniquity upon it, and the land spewed out those dwelling in her.

26You shall keep my decrees and my rulings and not do any of these abominations—not the native nor the sojourner residing among you.

27For the men of the land before you have done all these abominations, and the land became defiled.

28lest the land vomit you out when you defile it, as it vomited out the nation that was before you.

29For whoever does any of these abominations, the souls doing them will be cut off from the midst of their people.

30Keep my charge so that you do not carry out the abominable customs done before you, and do not defile yourselves with them: I am Yahweh your God.
