Leviticus 23

1Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying.

2Speak to the children of Israel and say to them: Yahweh's appointed times, which you shall proclaim holy convocations—these are my appointed times.

3Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day is a sabbath of complete rest, a sacred assembly; you shall perform no work at all. It is a sabbath to Yahweh in all your dwelling places.

4These are Yahweh's appointed festivals, holy convocations, which you shall proclaim in their appointed seasons.

5In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at twilight, is Yahweh's Passover.

6On the fifteenth day of this month is the feast of unleavened bread to Yahweh; seven days you shall eat unleavened bread.

7On the first day a holy assembly shall be for you; you shall do no servile work.

8You shall offer a fire offering to Yahweh seven days. On the seventh day is a holy convocation; you shall do no servile work.

9Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

10Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, "When you come into the land that I give you and reap its harvest, bring a sheaf—the firstfruits of your harvest—to the priest."

11He shall lift up the sheaf before Yahweh for your acceptance on the day after the Sabbath; the priest shall lift it up.

12You shall offer a lamb without blemish, a yearling, for a burnt offering to Yahweh on the day you wave the sheaf.

13Its grain offering is two tenths of fine flour mixed with oil, a fire offering to Yahweh for a pleasing aroma, and its drink offering is wine, a fourth of a hin.

14You shall not eat bread, parched grain, or fresh ears until this very day, until you bring an offering to your God. This is a statute forever for your generations in all your dwellings.

15You shall count seven complete Sabbaths for yourselves, beginning from the day after the Sabbath—the day you brought the sheaf of the wave offering.

16You shall count fifty days until the next day after the seventh sabbath, and you shall present a new offering to Yahweh.

17You shall bring from your dwelling places two breads for a wave offering of two tenths of fine flour; they shall be leavened and baked as firstfruits to Yahweh.

18Bring with the bread seven perfect yearling lambs, one young bull, and two rams; they shall be a burnt offering to Yahweh with their grain offering and their drink offerings, a fire offering of soothing aroma to Yahweh.

19You shall offer one goat for a sin offering, and two year-old lambs for peace offerings.

20The priest shall wave them with the bread of the firstfruits as a wave offering before Yahweh, together with the two lambs; they shall be holy to Yahweh for the priest.

21You shall proclaim a holy convocation for yourselves on this very day; you shall do no servile work. It is an eternal statute in all your dwelling places throughout your generations.

22When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap clean to the corners of your field as you reap, nor gather the gleanings of your harvest; leave them for the poor and the sojourner—I am Yahweh your God.

23Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

24Speak to the children of Israel, saying, "On the first day of the seventh month there shall be a sabbath rest for you, a memorial blast, a holy convocation."

25You shall do no servile work at all, and you shall present a fire offering to Yahweh.

26Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

27But on the tenth of this seventh month is the atonement day; it shall be a sacred assembly for you, and you shall humble yourselves and present a fire offering to Yahweh.

28You shall do no work at all on this very day, for it is a day of atonement to make atonement for you before Yahweh your God.

29For any person who does not humble herself on that very day, she shall be cut off from her people.

30Any person who does any work on that very day, I will destroy that person from among their people.

31Do no work at all: it is an eternal statute for your generations in all your dwellings.

32It is a sabbath rest for you, and you shall humble yourselves on the ninth of the month at evening—from evening to evening you shall observe your sabbath.

33Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

34Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, On the fifteenth day of this seventh month is the feast of booths for seven days to Yahweh.

35On the first day is a holy assembly; you shall do no laborious service.

36For seven days you shall present fire offerings to Yahweh. On the eighth day there shall be a sacred assembly for you; you shall present a fire offering to Yahweh. It is a solemn assembly; you shall do no laborious work.

37These are the appointed feasts of Yahweh, which you shall proclaim holy convocations to offer a fire offering to Yahweh—a burnt offering and grain offering, sacrifice and drink offerings, the service of each day on its day.

38Besides the Sabbaths of Yahweh, besides your gifts, besides all your vows, besides all your freewill offerings which you give to Yahweh.

39But on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you gather the produce of the land, celebrate Yahweh's feast for seven days: a sabbath rest on the first day, and a sabbath rest on the eighth day.

40You shall take for yourselves on the first day fruit of beautiful trees, branches of palms, boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook, and rejoice before Yahweh your God seven days.

41You shall celebrate it as a feast to Yahweh for seven days in the year; it is a perpetual statute for your generations, and you shall celebrate it in the seventh month.

42Live in booths seven days; every native-born in Israel shall live in booths.

43so that your generations may know that I made the children of Israel dwell in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am Yahweh your God.

44Moses declared to the children of Israel the appointed feasts of Yahweh.
