Leviticus 20

1Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

2Say to the sons of Israel: Any man from the sons of Israel, or any man from the sojourner who sojourns in Israel, who gives any of his offspring to Molech must surely be put to death; the people of the land shall stone him with stones.

3I myself will turn my face against that man and cut him off from among his people because he has given of his seed to Molech to defile my sanctuary and profane my holy name.

4And if the people of the land shut their eyes to that man when he gives one of his offspring to Molech and fail to kill him,

5I myself will set my face against that man and his family, and will cut him off along with all who prostitute after him to prostitute after Molech, from the midst of their people.

6The person who turns to the familiar spirits and to the wizards to fornicate after them—I will set my face against that person and will cut him off from the midst of his people.

7Consecrate yourselves and be holy, for I am Yahweh your God.

8Keep my ordinances and perform them; I am Yahweh who consecrates you.

9For whoever curses his father or his mother shall die; he has cursed his father or his mother, and his blood is upon him.

10A man who commits adultery with the wife of another man, who commits adultery with his neighbor's wife—the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

11Any man who sleeps with his father's wife has exposed his father's nakedness; both of them must certainly die—their blood is upon them.

12If a man lies with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall surely be put to death; they have committed confusion—their blood shall be upon them.

13If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both have done an abomination; they shall surely be put to death—their blood upon them.

14If a man takes a wife and her mother, it is lewdness; they shall burn him and them with fire, so that no lewdness arises among you.

15If a man lies with a beast, he shall certainly be put to death, and you shall kill the beast.

16If a woman approaches any animal to mate with it, you shall kill the woman and the animal; they shall surely be put to death—their bloodguilt rests upon them.

17If a man takes his sister, a daughter of his father or a daughter of his mother, and sees her nakedness while she sees his nakedness, it is disgrace; they shall be cut off before the eyes of their people's children; he has uncovered his sister's nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity.

18If a man lies with a menstruating woman and uncovers her nakedness, he uncovers her source and she uncovers the source of her blood; both shall be cut off from among their people.

19Do not uncover your mother's sister's nakedness or your father's sister's nakedness, for he has exposed his kin: they shall bear their iniquity.

20If a man lies with his uncle's wife, he uncovers his uncle's nakedness; they bear their sin and die childless.

21If a man takes his brother's wife, it is impurity; he has exposed his brother's nakedness; they shall be childless.

22Keep all my statutes and all my judgments, and do them, so the land where I am bringing you to dwell in it does not vomit you out.

23Do not follow the practices of the nation I am driving out ahead of you, for they performed all these things, and I detested them.

24I said to you, “You shall possess their land, and I will give it to you to possess—a land flowing with milk and honey. I am Yahweh your God, who has set you apart from the peoples.”

25You shall distinguish between clean animals and unclean, and between unclean birds and clean, and not make yourselves detestable by animals or by birds or by anything that creeps on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean.

26You shall be holy to me, for I, Yahweh, am holy, and have separated you from the peoples to be mine.

27Any man or woman in whom a familiar spirit resides or who is a wizard shall suffer death by stoning with stones, their blood being on them.
