Leviticus 4

1Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

2Speak to the children of Israel, saying, "If anyone sins unwittingly by doing any one of Yahweh's commandments that must not be done."

3If the anointed priest sins, bringing guilt on the people, then he shall bring for his sin which he committed a flawless young bull to Yahweh as a sin offering.

4He shall bring the bull to the entrance of the tent of meeting before Yahweh, lay his hand on the bull's head, and slaughter the bull before Yahweh.

5The anointed priest shall take some of the bull's blood and bring it to the tent of meeting.

6The priest dips his finger in the blood and sprinkles some of the blood seven times before Yahweh, before the curtain of the holy place.

7The priest puts some of the blood on the horns of the sweet incense altar before Yahweh, which is in the tent of meeting, and pours out all the blood of the bull at the base of the burnt offering altar, which is at the entrance of the tent of meeting.

8He shall remove from it all the fat of the sin offering bull, the fat covering the entrails and all the fat on the entrails.

9He removes both kidneys and the fat on them near the loins, and the caul over the liver and the kidneys.

10as it is lifted from the bull of the sacrifice of peace offerings, the priest shall burn them on the burnt offering altar.

11the bull's skin, all its flesh with its head and its legs, its innards, and its dung

12He shall carry the whole bull outside the camp to a clean place, the place where the ashes are poured out, and burn it on wood with fire; it shall be burned where the ashes are poured out.

13If Israel's entire assembly errs and a matter escapes the congregation's notice, and they do one of all Yahweh's commandments that must not be done, they bear guilt.

14When the sin they committed becomes known, the congregation shall present a young bull for a sin offering and bring it before the tent of meeting.

15The elders of the congregation shall lay their hands on the bull's head before Yahweh, and he shall slaughter the bull before Yahweh.

16The anointed priest shall bring some of the bull's blood to the tent of meeting.

17The priest shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle some of it seven times before Yahweh, before the veil.

18He shall apply some of the blood to the horns of the altar before Yahweh in the tent of meeting, and pour all the blood at the base of the burnt offering altar, which is at the entrance of the tent of meeting.

19He shall take all its fat from it and burn it on the altar.

20He shall do with the bull as he did with the sin offering bull; so he shall do with it, and the priest shall make atonement for them, and they shall be forgiven.

21He shall bring the bull outside the camp and burn it just as he burned the first bull. It is the sin offering for the assembly.

22When a ruler sins by unwittingly doing one of all the commandments of Yahweh his God that must not be done, he bears guilt.

23or if his sin that he committed in it becomes known to him, he shall bring his offering, a male goat from the goats without blemish.

24He shall place his hand on the head of the goat and slaughter it in the place where they slaughter the burnt offering before Yahweh; it is a sin offering.

25The priest shall take some of the sin offering's blood with his finger and put it on the horns of the burnt offering altar, and pour out its blood at the base of the burnt offering altar.

26He burns all its fat on the altar, like the fat of the peace offerings sacrifice; the priest makes atonement for him for his sin, and he is forgiven.

27If one person from the people of the land sins unwittingly by doing one of Yahweh's commandments that must not be done, that person bears guilt.

28Or if his sin that he committed becomes known to him, he shall bring his offering, a female kid goat without blemish, for his sin that he committed.

29He places his hand on the head of the sin offering and slaughters the sin offering in the place of the burnt offering.

30The priest takes some of its blood with his finger and puts it on the horns of the burnt offering altar, and pours out all its blood at the base of the altar.

31He shall remove all its fat, just as the fat is removed from the peace offerings, and the priest shall burn it on the altar for a pleasing aroma to Yahweh; the priest shall make atonement for him, and he will be forgiven.

32If he brings a lamb as his sin offering, he shall bring a female without blemish.

33He shall lay his hand on the head of the sin offering and slaughter it for a sin offering in the place where they slaughter the burnt offering.

34The priest shall take some of the sin offering's blood with his finger and apply it to the horns of the burnt offering altar, then pour out all its blood alongside the base of the altar.

35He shall remove all its fat, as the fat of the lamb is removed from the sacrifice of the peace offerings; the priest shall burn them on the altar, upon Yahweh's fire offerings, and the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin that he has sinned, and he will be forgiven.
