Leviticus 8

Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

Take Aaron and his sons with him, the garments, the anointing oil, the sin offering bull, the two rams, and the basket of unleavened bread.

And assemble all the congregation at the entrance to the tent of meeting.

Moses did as Yahweh commanded him, and the assembly gathered at the entrance of the tent of meeting.

Moses said to the congregation, "This is the thing that Yahweh commanded to do."

Moses brought Aaron and his sons near and washed them with water.

He put the tunic on him and girded him with the sash, clothed him with the robe, put the ephod on him, girded him with the ephod's artful band, and bound it to him with it.

He put the breastplate on him and put the Urim and the Thummim in the breastplate.

He placed the turban on his head and set the golden plate, the holy crown, on the turban in front of his forehead, just as Yahweh commanded Moses.

Moses took the anointing oil, anointed the tabernacle and all that was in it, and consecrated them.

He sprinkled some of it on the altar seven times and anointed the altar and all its vessels, the basin and its stand, to consecrate them.

He poured some of the anointing oil on Aaron's head and anointed him to consecrate him.

Moses presented Aaron's sons, dressed them in tunics, fastened sashes on them, and fitted headdresses on their heads, just as Yahweh commanded Moses.

He brought the bull for the sin offering, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the bull for the sin offering.

He slaughtered it; Moses took the blood, applied it to the horns of the altar all around with his finger, purified the altar, poured the blood at the base of the altar, and consecrated it to make atonement upon it.

He took all the fat on the entrails, the caul of the liver, the two kidneys, and their fat, and Moses burned it on the altar.

He burned the bull, its skin, its flesh, and its dung in the fire outside the camp, as Yahweh commanded Moses.

He brought forward the ram of the burnt offering, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the ram's head.

He slaughtered it, and Moses sprinkled the blood around the altar.

Moses cut the ram into pieces and burned the head, the pieces, and the fat.

He washed the entrails and the legs in water, and Moses burned the whole ram on the altar. It was a burnt offering for a soothing aroma, a fire offering to Yahweh, as Yahweh commanded Moses.

He brought the second ram, the ram of consecration, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the ram.

Moses slaughtered it, took some of its blood, and placed it on the lobe of Aaron's right ear, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.

Moses brought Aaron's sons near and put some of the blood on the lobe of their right ear, on the thumb of their right hand, and on the big toe of their right foot, and Moses sprinkled the blood around the altar.

He took the fat, the fat tail, all the fat on the entrails, the caul of the liver, the two kidneys and their fat, and the right thigh.

From the basket of unleavened cakes before Yahweh he took one unleavened cake, one cake of bread with oil, and one wafer, and set them on the fat pieces and on the right thigh.

He placed all of it on Aaron's hands and on his sons' hands, and waved them as a wave offering before Yahweh.

Moses took them from their hands and burned them on the altar atop the burnt offering. They were consecrations for a soothing aroma, a fire offering to Yahweh.

Moses took the breast and offered it up before Yahweh as a wave offering. It was his portion from the ram of consecration, as Yahweh commanded Moses.

Moses took some of the anointing oil and some of the blood on the altar, sprinkled it on Aaron, on his garments, on his sons, and on his sons' garments with him, and consecrated Aaron, his garments, his sons, and his sons' garments with him.

Moses said to Aaron and his sons, "Boil the flesh at the entrance of the tent of meeting, and eat it there with the bread in the consecration basket, as I commanded when I said, 'Aaron and his sons shall eat it.'"

What remains of the flesh and bread you shall burn in the fire.

You shall not go out from the entrance of the tent of meeting for seven days, until the days of your consecrations are fulfilled, for seven days he consecrates your hands.

As he has done this day, Yahweh has commanded it to be done to make atonement for you.

You shall remain at the entrance of the tent of meeting day and night for seven days and keep Yahweh's charge, so that you do not die—for thus I have been commanded.

Aaron and his sons carried out everything Yahweh commanded through Moses.
