Lumin Translation
Job 8
Bildad the Shuhite answered and said,
How long will you speak such things? Shall words from your mouth be a mighty wind?
Does God pervert justice? Or does the Almighty pervert righteousness?
If your children sinned against him, he sent them into the hand of their transgression.
If you earnestly seek God and beseech the Almighty,
If you were pure and upright, surely now he would rouse himself for you and restore the dwelling of your righteousness.
Though your beginning is small, your end will increase greatly.
Please ask the former generation and prepare yourself for their fathers' search.
For we are of yesterday only and do not know, because our days upon the earth are a shadow.
Will they not instruct you and tell you, bringing words from their hearts?
Does rush grow up without mire? Does flag grow without water?
While still in its greenness and not yet plucked, it withers before any grass.
Such are the paths of all who forget God; the hope of the hypocrite will perish.
Whose confidence will be cut off, his trust a spider's house.
He leans on his house, but it does not stand. He grasps it, but it does not remain.
He is green before the sun, and his shoot goes forth over his garden.
His roots wrap around the heap; he beholds the house of stones.
If it swallows him from his place, then it disowns him: I have not seen you.
Look, this is the joy of his way: from the dust others will sprout.
Behold, God will not reject the blameless, nor strengthen the hand of evildoers.
until he fills your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouting.
Those who hate you shall be clothed with shame, and the tent of the wicked shall be no more.
