Job 11

1Zophar the Naamathite answered and said,

2Shouldn't an abundance of words receive an answer? Or will a talkative man be justified?

3Will your lies silence men? When you mock, will no one shame you?

4You say, "My instruction is pure, and I am clean in your eyes."

5But if only God would speak and open his lips against you.

6that he would show you the hidden things of wisdom, for sound wisdom is twofold. Know therefore that God exacts of you less than your iniquity merits.

7Can you find God by searching? Or can you find the Almighty to perfection?

8The heights of the heavens—what can you do? Deeper than Sheol—what can you know?

9Its measure is longer than the earth and wider than the sea.

10If he passes by, imprisons, or assembles, who can turn him back?

11For he knows liars; he sees iniquity, and will he not consider it?

12A certain hollow man becomes wise when a wild donkey's colt is born a common man.

13If you direct your heart and spread your hands toward him.

14If iniquity is in your hand, drive it far away, and do not let injustice dwell in your tents.

15For then you will lift up your face without blemish, and you will be steadfast and not fear.

16For you will forget your misery and remember it like waters that have passed.

17Your age will be clearer than the noonday; it will fly away like the morning.

18You will be secure because there is hope, and you will search and lie down confidently.

19You will lie down, and no one will terrify you; many will seek your favor.

20The eyes of the wicked will fail, escape will perish from them, and their hope will be the expiring of the soul.
