Job 13

1Behold, my eye has seen everything; my ear has heard and understood it.

2I also know what you know. I myself do not fall short of you.

3But as for me, I desire to speak to the Almighty and argue with God.

4But you are forgers of falsehood, worthless physicians, all of you.

5Oh that you would be altogether silent! That would be wisdom for you.

6Hear now my argument and give heed to the pleadings of my lips.

7Will you speak injustice for God, and speak deceit for him?

8Will you show him favoritism? Or will you plead for God?

9Is it good that he searches you? Or as one deceives another, do you deceive him?

10He will surely rebuke you if you show favoritism in secret.

11Won't his majesty terrify you, and his dread fall upon you?

12Your memorials are proverbs of ashes; your bulwarks are bulwarks of clay.

13Be silent, leave me alone, and I will speak. Let whatever passes over me pass.

14Why do I take my flesh in my teeth and place my life in my hand?

15Though he kills me, I will not hope in him; nevertheless I will prove my ways before his face.

16He also is my salvation, for no hypocrite comes before him.

17Listen carefully to my words and my declaration in your ears.

18See now, I have laid out my case; I know that I will be justified.

19Who is he who will dispute with me? For now I will be silent and die.

20Only don't do two things to me; then I will not hide from your face.

21Remove your hand far from me, and let not your dread terrify me.

22Call, and I will answer; or I will speak, and you reply to me.

23How many iniquities and sins belong to me? Reveal my rebellion and my sin.

24Why do you hide your face and consider me your enemy?

25Will you terrify a driven leaf and pursue dry stubble?

26For you record bitter things against me and cause me to possess the iniquities of my youth.

27You put my feet in stocks and watch all my paths; upon the soles of my feet you set a mark.

28And he wastes away like rottenness, like a garment the moth devours.
