Job 32

1These three men stopped answering Job because he was righteous in his own eyes.

2Elihu, son of Barachel the Buzite from the family of Ram, burned with anger against Job. His anger burned because he justified his soul more than God.

3His anger also burned against his three friends because they had not found an answer and had condemned Job.

4Elihu had waited for Job's words because they were older than him in age.

5When Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of the three men, his anger burned.

6Elihu son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said, "I am young in years, and you are very old; therefore I shrank back and feared to declare my knowledge to you."

7I said, "Age should speak, and many years should teach wisdom."

8But a spirit is in mortals, and the breath of the Almighty grants them understanding.

9The great are not wise, nor do elders understand justice.

10Therefore I said, “Listen to me; even I will show my knowledge.”

11Behold, I waited for your words, listening to your reasonings until you searched out words.

12I paid attention to you, and look, no one among you convicted Job or responded to his words.

13Lest you say, "We have found wisdom; God drives him away, not man."

14He has not ordered his words against me, nor will I answer him with your words.

15They were dismayed, they answered no more, words ceased from them.

16I waited because they did not speak, because they stood and answered no more.

17I will answer my part too, and I will show my knowledge as well.

18For I am filled with words; the spirit in my belly compels me.

19Look, my belly is like wine that does not open—like new wineskins it bursts.

20I will speak, that I may be refreshed. I will open my lips and answer.

21Please do not let me show favor to any man, nor give flattering titles to any man.

22For I do not know how to give flattering titles, or else my Maker would soon take me away.
