Lumin Translation
Isaiah 50
Thus says Yahweh: Where is this certificate of your mother's divorce with which I sent her away? Or which of my creditors is it to whom I sold you? Look, you were sold for your iniquities, and your mother sent away for your transgressions.
Why did I come, and no man was there? I called, and no one answered. Is my hand shortened at all, shortened from redemption? Or have I no strength in me to deliver? Behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I set the rivers as a wilderness: their fish stink because there is no water, and they die of thirst.
I array the heavens with blackness and make their covering sackcloth.
Lord Yahweh has given me the tongue of the instructed, to know how to speak a timely word to the weary; morning by morning he rouses my ear to hear like the instructed.
Lord Yahweh opened my ear, and I did not rebel nor turn backward.
I gave my back to those who beat me, and my cheeks to those who plucked out the hair; I did not hide my face from insults and spitting.
Lord Yahweh will help me; therefore I am not ashamed; therefore I have set my face like flint, and I know that I will not be ashamed.
The one who justifies me is near; who will contend with me? Let us stand together. Who is master of my case? Let him come near to me.
Behold, Lord Yahweh will help me; who is he who will condemn me? Behold, they all will wear out like a garment; a moth will consume them.
Who among you fears Yahweh and heeds his servant's voice, who walks in darkness and has no brightness? Let him trust in the name of Yahweh and rely on his God.
Behold, all you who kindle a fire, who gird yourselves with firebrands—walk in the glow of your fire and among the brands you have kindled. This will come to you from my hand; you will lie down in grief.
