Isaiah 15

The oracle concerning Moab: for by night Ar of Moab lies devastated and silenced; for by night Kir of Moab lies devastated and silenced.

They go up to Bajith and Dibon, to the high places, to weep. Moab howls over Nebo and over Medeba. Baldness covers all their heads; every beard is shorn.

In their streets they put on sackcloth; on their rooftops and in their streets everyone howls, weeping profusely.

Heshbon cries out, and Elealeh; their voice is heard to Jahaz. Therefore the armed men of Moab cry aloud; his soul grieves him.

My heart cries for Moab; her fugitives reach Zoar, Eglath Shelishiyah—for they climb Luhith's ascent amid weeping, for they arouse a shattering cry along Horonaim's road.

For Nimrim's waters will lie desolate, for the hay has withered, the fresh grass has failed; no green remains.

Therefore they will carry away the abundance they have acquired and their stores over the brook of the willows.

For the cry has encircled the borders of Moab; its howling to Eglaim, and its howling to Beer-elim.

For Dimon's waters are filled with blood, for I will bring more upon Dimon—a lion upon Moab's escapees and upon the land's remnant.
