Lumin Translation

Ezekiel 39

You, son of man, prophesy against Gog and say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.

And I will turn you back and leave only a sixth of you, bringing you up from the remotest parts of the north upon the mountains of Israel.

And I will strike your bow from your left hand and cause your arrows to fall from your right hand.

You will fall on the mountains of Israel—you and all your troops and the nations who are with you; I will give you to every sort of ravenous bird and to the beasts of the field as food.

You shall fall upon the surface of the field, for I have spoken it, declares the Lord Yahweh.

I will send fire on Magog and on those dwelling secure in the islands, and they will know that I am Yahweh.

I will make my holy name known among my people Israel, and I will no longer profane my holy name; the nations will know that I am Yahweh, the Holy One in Israel.

See, it comes and it will happen, declares the Lord Yahweh—this is the day I have spoken of.

The inhabitants of Israel's cities will go out and burn and kindle the weapons—shields and bucklers, bows and arrows, hand staffs and spears—and burn them with fire for seven years.

They will not carry wood from the field nor cut any from the forests, for they will burn the weapons with fire, and they will spoil their spoilers and rob their robbers, declares the Lord Yahweh.

On that day I will give Gog a burial place there in Israel, the valley of the passersby east of the sea; it will stop the passersby, and they will bury Gog and all his multitude there, and they will call it the Valley of Hamon Gog.

The house of Israel will bury them for seven months to cleanse the land.

All the people of the land will bury them, and it will be a renown for them on the day of my glorification, declares the Lord Yahweh.

They will set apart men of continual service who pass through the land, burying alongside the passersby those left on the surface of the land to cleanse it; at the end of seven months they will search.

Those passing through the land will pass through, and when one sees a human bone, he will set up a sign beside it until the buriers bury it in the Valley of Hamon-Gog.

Hamonah will also be the name of a city, and they will cleanse the land.

You, son of man, thus says the Lord Yahweh: Speak to every winged bird and to every beast of the field, Assemble and come, gather from every side to my sacrifice that I am sacrificing for you, a great sacrifice on the mountains of Israel, that you may eat flesh and drink blood.

You shall eat the flesh of champions and drink the blood of the earth's rulers—rams, lambs, goats, bulls, all fatlings of Bashan.

You shall eat fat until you are full and drink blood until you are drunk, from my sacrifice which I have offered for you.

You will eat your fill at my table with horses and chariots, champions, and every warrior, declares the Lord Yahweh.

I will display my glory among the nations, and all the nations will see my judgment that I have performed, and my hand that I have placed on them.

The house of Israel will know that I am Yahweh their God from that day onward.

The nations will know that the house of Israel went into exile for their iniquity because they acted treacherously against me, so I hid my face from them and delivered them into the power of their adversaries, and they all fell by the sword.

According to their uncleanness and their transgressions I dealt with them, and hid my face from them.

Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Now I will restore the captivity of Jacob and show compassion to the whole house of Israel, and I will be jealous for my holy name.

They will bear their shame and all their unfaithfulnesses by which they acted unfaithfully against me, when they dwell securely in their land, and none terrifies them.

When I restore them from the peoples and gather them from their enemies' lands, and hallow myself in them in the sight of many nations.

They will know that I am Yahweh their God, because I exiled them to the nations and gathered them to their land, and will no longer leave any of them there.

I will no longer hide my face from them, for I have poured out my Spirit on the house of Israel, declares the Lord Yahweh.
