Ezekiel 35

1The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

2Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir and prophesy against it.

3And say to it: Thus says Lord Yahweh, Behold, I am against you, Mount Seir, and I will stretch out my hand against you, and I will make you a desolation and a horror.

4I will make your cities a desolation, and you shall be desolate, and you shall know that I am Yahweh.

5Because you harbored ancient enmity and poured out the sons of Israel by the hand of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time of iniquity's end.

6Therefore, as I live, declares the Lord Yahweh, I will give you over to blood, and blood will chase you; since you have not hated blood, blood will chase you.

7I will make Mount Seir a desolation and a wasteland, and I will cut off from it anyone passing through and returning.

8I will fill his mountains with the slain; those slain by the sword will fall in your hills, your valleys, and all your streams.

9I will make you desolations forever, and your cities will not be inhabited; they will not return, and you will know that I am Yahweh.

10Because you said, "These two nations and these two lands will be mine, and we will possess it," yet Yahweh was there.

11Therefore, as I live, declares the Lord Yahweh, I will do according to your anger and according to your jealousy which you pursued out of your hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them when I judge you.

12You will know that I, Yahweh, have heard all your blasphemies which you spoke against the mountains of Israel, saying, "They are desolate, laid waste, given to us to devour."

13You have boasted against me with your mouth and have multiplied your words against me; I have heard.

14Thus says the Lord Yahweh: When all the earth rejoices, I will make you desolate.

15As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel because it was desolate, so I will do to you: you will become a desolation, Mount Seir and all Edom, every part of it; and they will know that I am Yahweh.
