Exodus 39

1From blue, purple, and scarlet they made service garments for ministering in the holy place, and made the holy garments for Aaron, as Yahweh commanded Moses.

2He made the ephod of gold, blue, purple, crimson, and finely twisted linen.

3They beat the gold into plates and cut it into threads to work it in the blue, in the purple, in the scarlet, and in the fine linen—the work of a skilled craftsman.

4They made shoulder straps for it to couple it, coupling the edges at both its ends.

5The ephod's skillfully woven band, which was on it, came from the same piece, matching its workmanship, gold, blue, purple, scarlet, and fine twisted linen, as Yahweh commanded Moses.

6They made the onyx stones, enclosed in gold settings, with signet engravings of the names of the sons of Israel.

7He put them on the shoulders of the ephod, memorial stones for the sons of Israel, as Yahweh commanded Moses.

8He made the breastplate of skilled workmanship, like that of the ephod, of gold, blue, purple, scarlet, and fine twisted linen.

9It was square and double. They made the breastplate a span in length and a span in width, double.

10They filled it with four rows of stones: sardius, topaz, and carbuncle, the first row.

11And the second row, emerald, sapphire, and diamond.

12And the third row contained ligure, agate, and amethyst.

13And the fourth row, beryl, onyx, and jasper, set in worked gold in their settings.

14The stones corresponded to the names of Israel's sons, these twelve by their names, carved like signet seals, each bearing his name, for the twelve tribes.

15They made chains of twisted cord-work of pure gold upon the breastplate.

16They made two gold settings and two gold rings, and put the two rings on the two ends of the breastplate.

17They put the two gold cords on the two rings at the ends of the breastplate.

18They put the two ends of the two cords on the two settings and fastened them to the shoulders of the ephod, toward its front.

19They made two gold rings and put them on the two ends of the breastplate, on its edge that faced the inner side of the ephod.

20They made two gold rings and put them on the two shoulders of the ephod underneath, toward its front, alongside its coupling, above the waistband of the ephod.

21They fastened the breastplate by its rings to the ephod's rings with a blue cord, so it would rest above the ephod's woven band and the breastplate would not slip off the ephod, as Yahweh commanded Moses.

22He made the robe of the ephod as a weaver's work, entirely blue.

23The robe's central opening resembled a coat of mail's opening, with a binding around its edge so it would not tear.

24They made on the skirts of the robe pomegranates of twined blue, purple, and scarlet.

25They made bells of pure gold and placed the bells between the pomegranates around the hems of the robe, between the pomegranates.

26A bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, around the hems of the robe for serving, as Yahweh commanded Moses.

27They made the fine linen tunics, the work of a weaver, for Aaron and his sons.

28and the turban of fine linen, the beautiful bonnets of fine linen, and the linen breeches of fine twisted linen,

29And the sash of fine twined linen, blue, purple, and scarlet—the embroiderer's work—as Yahweh commanded Moses.

30They made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and wrote on it an inscription engraved like a signet: Holy to Yahweh.

31They attached a blue cord to it to fasten it above on the turban, as Yahweh commanded Moses.

32All the work of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting was completed. The sons of Israel did everything Yahweh commanded Moses, and so they did.

33They brought the tabernacle to Moses, the tent with all its furnishings, its clasps, its boards, its bars, its pillars, and its sockets.

34the covering of red-dyed rams' skins, the covering of badger skins, and the veil of the hanging.

35the ark of the testimony, its poles, and the mercy seat

36the table, all its utensils, and the bread of the Presence

37the pure lampstand, its lamps, the arranged lamps, all its utensils, and the oil for light

38and the altar of gold, and the oil of anointing, and the incense of sweet spices, and the curtain for the entrance of the tabernacle

39the bronze altar, its bronze grate, its poles, all its vessels, the basin and its stand,

40the hangings of the courtyard, its pillars and bases, the curtain for the courtyard gate, its cords and pegs, and all the articles for the tabernacle service, for the tent of meeting.

41the service garments for serving in the sanctuary, the consecrated garments for Aaron the priest, and his sons' garments for serving as priests.

42The children of Israel did everything Yahweh commanded Moses, all the work.

43Moses inspected all the work and saw that they had done it just as Yahweh commanded—so they had done it—and he blessed them.
