Exodus 30

You shall make an altar for burning incense; of acacia wood you shall make it.

Its length shall be a cubit and its width a cubit; it shall be square, its height two cubits, its horns part of it.

You shall overlay it with pure gold—its top, its sides all around it, and its horns—and you shall make a gold crown around it.

You shall make two gold rings for it beneath its rim on its two ribs; on its two sides you shall make them, and they shall be for places for bars to bear it with them.

You shall make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.

You shall place it before the veil next to the ark of the testimony, before the mercy seat over the testimony, where I will meet with you there.

Aaron shall burn incense from sweet spices on it every morning; when he trims the lamps, he shall burn it.

When Aaron lights the lamps at evening, he shall burn continual incense before Yahweh for your generations.

You shall not offer foreign incense on it, nor burnt offering, nor grain offering, and you shall not pour drink offering on it.

Aaron shall make atonement on its horns once a year with the blood of the sin offering of atonements; once a year he shall make atonement on it throughout your generations. It is most holy to Yahweh.

Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

When you take a census of Israel's sons according to those mustered among them, each man shall give a ransom for his life to Yahweh when you muster them, so no plague strikes them when you muster them.

Everyone who passes among those numbered shall give this: half a shekel by the sanctuary shekel (a shekel is twenty gerahs); that half shekel is an offering to Yahweh.

Everyone passing over to those numbered, from twenty years old and upward, shall give an offering to Yahweh.

The rich shall not contribute more, nor the poor less than half a shekel, to present Yahweh's offering for making atonement over your souls.

You shall take the atonement silver from the children of Israel and apply it to the service of the tent of meeting, so it serves as a memorial for the children of Israel before Yahweh to atone for your souls.

Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

You shall make a bronze basin and its bronze base for washing, and you shall set it between the tent of meeting and the altar, and you shall put water in it.

Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet from it.

When they enter the tent of meeting, they shall wash with water, lest they die; or when they approach the altar to minister by burning a fire offering to Yahweh.

They shall wash their hands and their feet so they do not die, and it shall be a perpetual statute for them, for him and his offspring through their generations.

Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

Take for yourself spices: five hundred of prime pure myrrh, fragrant cinnamon half as much—two hundred fifty—and fragrant cane two hundred fifty.

five hundred shekels of cassia by the holy shekel, and a hin of olive oil.

You shall make it a holy anointing oil, a compound ointment, the work of a perfumer; it shall be a holy anointing oil.

You shall anoint the tent of meeting and the ark of the testimony with it.

the table and all its utensils, the lampstand and its utensils, and the incense altar

the burnt offering altar and all its vessels, and the laver and its stand.

You shall consecrate them, and they will be most holy; whatever touches them will be consecrated.

You shall anoint Aaron and his sons, and consecrate them to serve me as priests.

Speak to the children of Israel, saying, "This shall be a holy anointing oil for me for your generations."

It shall not be poured on human flesh, nor shall you make any like it according to its mixture; it is holy, and it shall be holy to you.

Anyone who prepares any like it, or who applies any of it to an outsider, shall be cut off from his people.

Yahweh said to Moses, "Take fragrant spices for yourself: stacte, onycha, and galbanum; fragrant spices and pure frankincense, equal part with equal part."

You shall make it incense, a confection, the work of a perfumer, salted, pure, holy.

You shall grind some of it to fine powder and put some before the testimony in the tent of meeting, where I will meet with you there; it shall be most holy to you.

The incense that you make according to its composition you shall not make for yourselves; it shall be holy to you for Yahweh.

Whoever makes any like it to smell it will be cut off from his people.
