1 Chronicles 2

1These are Israel's sons: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun.

2Dan, Joseph, and Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.

3Judah's sons were Er, Onan, and Shelah—three born to him by Shua's daughter the Canaanite. Er, Judah's firstborn, was wicked in Yahweh's sight, and he put him to death.

4Tamar, his daughter-in-law, bore Perez and Zerah to him; Judah's sons were five in all.

5Perez's sons were Hezron and Hamul.

6Zerah’s sons were Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Calcol, and Dara—all five of them.

7Carmi's sons: Achar, Israel's troubler, who trespassed in the devoted thing.

8Ethan's sons: Azariah.

9Hezron's sons who were born to him were Jerahmeel, Ram, and Chelubai.

10Ram fathered Amminadab, and Amminadab fathered Nahshon, chief of Judah's sons.

11Nahshon fathered Salma, and Salma fathered Boaz.

12Boaz fathered Obed, and Obed fathered Jesse.

13Jesse fathered his firstborn Eliab, Abinadab the second, and Shimea the third.

14Nethaneel the fourth, Raddai the fifth.

15The sixth, Ozem, the seventh, David.

16Their sisters were Zeruiah and Abigail; Zeruiah's sons were Abishai, Joab, and Asahel—three.

17Abigail gave birth to Amasa, and Amasa's father was Jether the Ishmaelite.

18Caleb son of Hezron fathered children by his wife Azubah and by Jerioth; these were her sons: Jesher, Shobab, and Ardon.

19Azubah died, and Caleb took Ephrath to himself, and she bore him Hur.

20Hur fathered Uri, and Uri fathered Bezalel.

21Afterward Hezron went to the daughter of Machir, father of Gilead, whom he took when he was sixty years old, and she bore Segub to him.

22Segub fathered Jair, who possessed twenty-three cities in the land of Gilead.

23Geshur and Aram took Jair's towns from them, Kenath and its villages, sixty cities. All these were sons of Machir the father of Gilead.

24After Hezron died in Caleb-Ephrathah, Abijah his wife bore him Ashhur, father of Tekoa.

25Jerahmeel, Hezron's firstborn, had sons: Ram his firstborn, Bunah, Oren, Ozem, and Ahijah.

26Jerahmeel had another wife named Atarah; she was Onam's mother.

27The sons of Ram, Jerahmeel's firstborn, were Maaz, Jamin, and Eker.

28Onam's sons were Shammai and Jada, and Shammai's sons were Nadab and Abishur.

29Abishur's wife was named Abihail, and she bore him Ahban and Molid.

30Nadab’s sons were Seled and Appaim, but Seled died without sons.

31Appaim's sons were Ishi, Ishi's sons Sheshan, and Sheshan's sons Ahlai.

32The sons of Jada, Shammai's brother, were Jether and Jonathan, but Jether died childless.

33Jonathan's sons were Peleth and Zaza; these were Jerahmeel's sons.

34Sheshan had no sons, only daughters. Sheshan had an Egyptian servant named Jarha.

35Sheshan gave his daughter to Jarha his servant as a wife, and she bore him Attai.

36Attai fathered Nathan, and Nathan fathered Zabad.

37Zabad fathered Ephlal, and Ephlal fathered Obed.

38Obed fathered Jehu, and Jehu fathered Azariah.

39Azariah fathered Helez, and Helez fathered Eleasah.

40And Eleasah fathered Sismai, and Sismai fathered Shallum.

41And Shallum fathered Jekamiah, and Jekamiah fathered Elishama.

42Caleb, Jerahmeel's brother, had sons: Mesha his firstborn, who was the father of Ziph; and Mareshah, the father of Hebron, had sons.

43Hebron's sons were Korah, Tappuah, Rekem, and Shema.

44Shema fathered Raham, father of Jorkeam, and Rekem fathered Shammai.

45Shammai’s son was Maon, and Maon was the father of Beth Zur.

46Ephah, Caleb's concubine, bore Haran, Moza, and Gazez; Haran fathered Gazez.

47Jahdai’s sons: Regem, Jotham, Geshan, Pelet, Ephah, and Shaaph.

48Caleb's concubine Maachah bore Sheber and Tirhanah.

49She bore Shaaph the father of Madmannah, Sheva the father of Machbenah, the father of Gibeah, and Achsah the daughter of Caleb.

50These were the sons of Caleb son of Hur, Ephrathah's firstborn: Shobal father of Kiriath-jearim.

51Salma, Bethlehem's father, Hareph, Beth-gader's father.

52Sons of Shobal father of Kiriath-jearim were Haroeh and half the Manahethites.

53The families of Kirjath-jearim—the Ithrites, Puhites, Shumathites, and Mishraites—from them came the Zorathites and Eshtaolites.

54The sons of Salma: Bethlehem, Netophathites, Ataroth-beth-Joab, half the Manahethites, the Zorites.

55The families of scribes who lived in Jabez—the Tirathites, Shimeathites, Suchathites—were the Kenites who came from Hammath, father of the house of Rechab.
