Deuteronomy 30

1When all these things—the blessing and the curse that I set before you—come upon you, and you bring them back to your heart among all the nations where Yahweh your God has driven you,

2and you return to Yahweh your God and obey his voice according to all that I command you today—you and your children—with all your heart and with all your soul.

3Yahweh your God will bring back your captives and have compassion on you, and will return and gather you from all the peoples to which Yahweh your God has scattered you.

4If your exiles are at the ends of the heavens, from there Yahweh your God will gather you, and from there he will bring you.

5Yahweh your God will bring you into the land your fathers possessed, and you will possess it; he will do you good and multiply you more than your fathers.

6Yahweh your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your offspring to love Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul, so that you live.

7Yahweh your God will put all these curses upon your enemies and upon those who hate you, who persecuted you.

8You will return and obey Yahweh's voice and do all his commandments that I am commanding you today.

9Yahweh your God will make you abound in all the work of your hand, in the fruit of your body, in the fruit of your livestock, and in the fruit of your land, for good, because Yahweh will again rejoice over you for good, as he rejoiced over your fathers.

10if you listen to the voice of Yahweh your God to keep his commandments and his statutes written in this book of the law, and if you return to Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

11For this commandment that I command you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it far off.

12It is not in heaven, that you should say, “Who will go up for us to heaven and bring it to us and tell it to us, so we may do it?”

13Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, "Who will cross over for us to the other side of the sea and take it to us and cause us to hear it, so we may do it?"

14For the word is very near to you, in your mouth and in your heart, to do it.

15See, I have set life and good, death and evil, before you today.

16that I command you today to love Yahweh your God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments, his statutes, and his judgments, so you live and multiply, and Yahweh your God blesses you in the land where you come to possess it.

17But if your heart turns away and you refuse to hear, but are driven away and bow down to other gods and serve them.

18I declare to you today that you will surely perish and will not live long on the land where you cross the Jordan to enter there and possess it.

19I charge you today—heaven and earth testifying against you—that I have placed before you life and death, blessing and curse; choose life, so you may live, you and your offspring.

20to love Yahweh your God, to heed his voice, and to hold fast to him; for he is your life and the length of your days, that you dwell in the land Yahweh swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
