Deuteronomy 27

1Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people: "Keep the whole commandment that I command you today."

2It will be on the day you cross the Jordan into the land Yahweh your God gives you, that you will erect great stones for yourself and plaster them with plaster.

3And you shall write on them all the words of this law when you cross over, so that you enter the land Yahweh your God is giving you—a land flowing with milk and honey—just as Yahweh, the God of your fathers, spoke to you.

4It shall be when you cross the Jordan that you shall establish these stones, which I am charging you today on Mount Ebal, and you shall plaster them with plaster.

5You shall build an altar of stones there to Yahweh your God; you shall not lift any iron upon them.

6You shall build an altar to Yahweh your God of whole stones, and you shall offer burnt offerings on it to Yahweh your God.

7You shall sacrifice peace offerings and eat there, and rejoice before Yahweh your God.

8You shall plainly write on the stones all the words of this law.

9Moses and the Levite priests spoke to all Israel, saying, "Pay attention and listen, Israel: today you have become the people of Yahweh your God."

10You shall heed the voice of Yahweh your God and keep his commandments and his statutes, which I command you today.

11Moses commanded the people that day, saying,

12These will stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people when you cross the Jordan: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin.

13These shall stand on Mount Ebal for the curse: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.

14The Levites shall answer and declare to all the men of Israel with a loud voice.

15Cursed is the man who makes a carved or molten image, an abomination to Yahweh, the work of a craftsman's hands, and places it in secret. All the people shall answer and say, “Amen.”

16Cursed is whoever dishonors his father or his mother. All the people shall say, “Amen.”

17Cursed is he who removes his neighbor's boundary. All the people shall say, Amen.

18Cursed is the one who misleads the blind from the path, and all the people shall say, "Amen."

19Cursed is one who perverts justice for the sojourner, the orphan, and the widow; all the people shall say, "Amen."

20Cursed is he who sleeps with his father's wife, for he has uncovered his father's skirt. All the people shall say, Amen.

21Cursed is anyone who lies with any beast; all the people shall say, "Amen."

22Cursed is the one who lies with his sister, a daughter of his father or a daughter of his mother. All the people shall say, "Amen."

23Cursed is anyone who sleeps with his mother-in-law. All the people shall say, Amen.

24Cursed is one who strikes his fellow secretly. All the people shall say, "Amen."

25Cursed is whoever takes a bribe to shed the blood of an innocent person. All the people shall say, 'Amen.'

26Cursed is whoever does not uphold the words of this law by doing them. All the people will say, 'Amen.'
