Proverbs 12

Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is brutish.

A good man draws favor from Yahweh, but he condemns a man of schemes.

No one is established by wickedness, but the root of the righteous will not be shaken.

A valiant wife is her husband's crown, but a shaming wife is like decay in his bones.

The devices of the righteous are justice, but the counsels of the ungodly are deceit.

The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood, but the mouth of the upright delivers them.

The wicked are overthrown and gone, but the house of the righteous stands.

A man is praised according to his wisdom, but a crooked heart is despised.

Better a despised man with a servant than one who glorifies himself yet lacks bread.

The righteous knows the life of his beast, but the mercies of the wicked are cruel.

He who works his ground will be filled with bread, but he who pursues vain things lacks sense.

The wicked covet the snare of evil men, but the root of the righteous yields.

In the transgression of the lips lies an evil snare, but the righteous escapes trouble.

A man is filled with good from the fruit of his mouth, and the recompense of his hands returns to repay him.

A fool's way seems right to him, but one who heeds counsel is wise.

A fool's anger becomes known that day, but one who conceals dishonor is prudent.

He who utters truth declares justice, but a false witness speaks deceit.

There is one who speaks rashly like sword piercings, but the tongue of the wise is healing.

A truthful lip endures forever, but a lying tongue lasts only a moment.

Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil, but joy attends the counselors of peace.

No evil will befall the righteous at all, but the wicked are filled with trouble.

Deceitful lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who practice faithfulness are his delight.

A prudent man conceals knowledge, but the heart of fools proclaims folly.

The hand of the diligent will rule, but laziness will be forced labor.

Anxiety in a man's heart depresses it, but a good word cheers it.

The righteous surpasses his companion, but the way of the wicked misleads them.

The slothful does not roast his game, but a diligent man's riches are precious.

In the path of righteousness is life; in its pathway there is no death.
