1Every wise woman builds her house, but folly breaks it down with her hands.
2Whoever walks in uprightness fears Yahweh, but whoever is perverse in his ways despises him.
3In a fool's mouth is a rod of haughtiness, but the lips of the wise guard them.
4Where there are no oxen, the manger is clean, but abundant produce comes from the ox's strength.
5A faithful witness does not lie, but a false witness breathes out lies.
6A scoffer seeks wisdom and finds none, but knowledge is easy to the discerning.

31Whoever defrauds the poor insults his Maker, but whoever honors him shows favor to the needy.
32The wicked is driven away in his calamity, but the righteous trusts in his death.
33Wisdom rests in the heart of the discerning, but becomes known among fools.
34Righteousness exalts a nation, but kindness to peoples is sin.
35A king delights in a discerning servant, but his wrath falls on one who brings shame.
