Romans 2

1Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever judges; for in whatever you judge another, you condemn yourself, for you who judge practice the same things.

2But we know that God's judgment is according to truth against those who practice such things.

3But do you suppose this, O man—you who judge those doing such things and do them yourself—that you will escape God's judgment?

4Or do you despise the riches of his kindness, forbearance, and patience, not knowing that God's kindness leads you to repentance?

5But according to your hardness and unrepentant heart you store up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of God's righteous judgment.

6who will repay each one according to his works.

7to those indeed who by perseverance in good deeds seek glory and honor and immortality, eternal life;

8But to those given to strife and disobeying the truth but obeying unrighteousness, wrath and fury.

9Anguish and distress on every man's soul who works evil, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

10But glory, honor, and peace to everyone who does good—to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

11For with God there is no partiality.

12For whoever has sinned without law will also perish without law, and whoever has sinned in the law will be judged by the law.

13For hearers of the law are not righteous before God, but doers of the law will be justified.

14For when Gentiles who do not have the law do by nature what the law requires, these, not having the law, are a law for themselves.

15who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience testifying with them and their thoughts between one another accusing or even excusing.

16In the day when God judges the secrets of men according to my gospel through Christ Jesus.

17But if you name yourself a Jew and rest in the law and boast in God,

18and you know the will and approve the better things, being instructed from the law.

19and are convinced that you yourself are a guide for the blind, a light for those in darkness.

20an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of children, having the form of knowledge and truth in the law.

21Therefore you who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who proclaim not to steal, do you steal?

22You who say not to commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who detest idols, do you rob temples?

23You who boast in the law, do you dishonor God through transgressing the law?

24For God's name is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you, as it is written.

25For circumcision indeed benefits if you practice the law, but if you are a transgressor of the law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision.

26Therefore if uncircumcision keeps the righteous requirements of the law, will not his uncircumcision be reckoned as circumcision?

27And won't the uncircumcision by nature, if it fulfills the law, judge you who through the letter and circumcision are a transgressor of the law?

28For the outward one is not a Jew, nor is outward circumcision in the flesh.

29But he is a Jew inwardly, and circumcision is of the heart, in the spirit not in the letter, whose praise is not from men but from God.
