Numbers 34

1Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

2Command the sons of Israel and say to them: When you come into the land of Canaan, this is the land that will fall to you as an inheritance, the land of Canaan according to its borders.

3Your southern quarter will extend from the wilderness of Zin along the side of Edom, and your southern border from the end of the Salt Sea eastward.

4Your border shall turn from the south to the ascent of Akrabbim, pass to Zin, and its goings forth shall lie southward to Kadesh-barnea; it shall proceed to Hazar-addar and pass to Azmon.

5The border shall turn from Azmon to the brook of Egypt, and its outlets shall be at the sea.

6Your western border shall be the Great Sea and its border; this shall be your western border.

7This shall be your north border: from the great sea you shall point out Mount Hor for yourselves.

8From Mount Hor you shall trace out to the entrance of Hamath; and the exits of the border shall be at Zedad.

9The border goes out to Ziphron, and its ends are at Hazar-enan; this will serve as your border on the north.

10You shall mark your eastern border from Hazar-enan to Shepham.

11The border descends from Shepham to Riblah east of Ain, descends further, and reaches the eastern flank of the Sea of Chinnereth.

12The border shall go down to the Jordan, and its ends shall be at the Salt Sea. This shall be your land according to its borders all around.

13Moses commanded the Israelites, saying, "This is the land you shall inherit by lot, which Yahweh commanded to give to the nine tribes and half the tribe."

14For the tribe of the Reubenites by their fathers' houses, the tribe of the Gadites by their fathers' houses, and half the tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance.

15The two tribes and the half-tribe have received their inheritance beyond the Jordan at Jericho eastward, toward the sunrise.

16Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

17These are the names of the men who shall allot the land to you: Eleazar the priest, and Joshua son of Nun.

18You shall take one prince—one from each tribe—to allot the land as an inheritance.

19These are the names of the men of Judah's tribe: Caleb son of Jephunneh.

20And of the tribe of Simeon's sons, Shemuel son of Ammihud.

21Benjamin’s tribe: Elidad, Chislon’s son.

22Bukki son of Jogli, chief of the tribe of the sons of Dan.

23Of Joseph's sons, from the tribe of Manasseh's sons: chief Hanniel son of Ephod.

24The prince for the tribe of Ephraim's sons, Kemuel son of Shiphtan.

25Of the tribe of the sons of Zebulun, the prince Elizaphan son of Parnach.

26The prince Paltiel son of Azzan of the tribe of the sons of Issachar.

27The chief of the tribe of the sons of Asher, Ahihud son of Shelomi.

28Pedahel son of Ammihud, chief of the tribe of the sons of Naphtali.

29These are the ones whom Yahweh commanded to apportion the land to the children of Israel in Canaan.
