Lumin Translation

Numbers 30

Moses spoke to the heads of the tribes of the sons of Israel, saying, "This is the matter that Yahweh commanded."

When any man vows a vow to Yahweh, or swears an oath to bind a bond upon his soul, he shall not break his word; he shall do everything that comes from his mouth.

When a woman vows a vow to Yahweh and binds a bond while in her father's house during her youth,

And her father hears her vow and her bond that she bound upon her soul, and her father remains silent toward her; then all her vows stand, and every bond that she bound upon her soul stands.

But if her father disallows her the day he hears all her vows and her bonds by which she bound herself, they will not stand, and Yahweh will forgive her, because her father disallowed her.

If she has a husband when her vows are upon her, or the rash utterance of her lips by which she has bound her soul,

And her husband hears and remains silent toward her on the day he hears it; then her vows stand, and her bonds that she bound upon her soul stand.

But if her husband hears and disallows her that day, then he will nullify her vow upon her and the rash utterance of her lips by which she bound her soul, and Yahweh will forgive her.

Every vow of a widow or divorced woman by which she has bound her soul shall stand against her.

And if she vowed in her husband's house, or imposed a binding oath upon her soul.

Her husband heard her and kept silent toward her and did not forbid her; then all her vows shall stand, and every bond with which she bound her soul shall stand.

But if her husband annulled them on the day he heard them, then whatever came from her lips concerning her vows or the binding of her soul shall not stand: her husband annulled them, and Yahweh will forgive her.

Her husband may confirm every vow and every binding oath to humble the soul, or her husband may invalidate it.

But if her husband stays completely silent toward her day by day, he confirms all her vows or all her binding obligations upon her; he confirms them because he stayed silent toward her on the day he heard them.

But if he breaks them after he has heard them, then he shall bear her iniquity.

These are the statutes that Yahweh commanded Moses between a man and his wife, between a father and his daughter in her youth in her father's house.
