Numbers 2

1Yahweh spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying,

2The sons of Israel shall camp, each by his banner with the signs of their fathers' houses, at a distance all around the tent of meeting.

3Those who encamp eastward toward the sunrise are the standard of Judah's camp by their armies, and Nahshon son of Amminadab is the chief of Judah's sons.

4His army and those mustered from them were seventy-four thousand six hundred.

5Those who camp next to him are the tribe of Issachar, and Nethanel son of Zuar is the prince of Issachar's sons.

6His host and those mustered under him were fifty-four thousand four hundred.

7The tribe of Zebulun: Eliab son of Helon, chief of its sons.

8His army and his mustered men were fifty-seven thousand four hundred.

9All those numbered in Judah's camp were a hundred thousand, eighty thousand, six thousand four hundred, according to their armies. They shall set out first.

10On the south side is the standard of Reuben's camp according to their armies, and the prince of Reuben's sons is Elizur son of Shedeur.

11His host and those mustered for him were forty-six thousand five hundred.

12The tribe of Simeon shall camp beside him. Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai shall be chief of Simeon's sons.

13His army and those mustered of them were fifty-nine thousand three hundred.

14The tribe of Gad, and the prince of the sons of Gad shall be Eliasaph son of Reuel.

15His army, and those mustered of them, were forty-five thousand six hundred fifty.

16All those numbered in Reuben's camp were one hundred fifty-one thousand four hundred fifty by their armies. They shall set out second.

17The tent of meeting journeys with the camp of the Levites amid the camps, just as they encamp, so they journey—each man at his station by their banners.

18The standard of the camp of Ephraim and their hosts is on the west, and the chief of the sons of Ephraim is Elishama son of Ammihud.

19His army and those enrolled among them were forty thousand five hundred.

20Next to him is the tribe of Manasseh, and Gamaliel son of Pedahzur is the prince of the children of Manasseh.

21His army and those mustered from it were thirty-two thousand two hundred.

22The tribe of Benjamin, and the chief of Benjamin's sons, Abidan son of Gideoni.

23His army numbered thirty-five thousand four hundred.

24All those numbered in the camp of Ephraim totaled one hundred thousand, eight thousand, and one hundred, according to their armies. They shall set out third.

25The standard of Dan’s camp shall be on the north by their armies, and the chief of Dan’s sons shall be Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai.

26His army and those mustered among them were sixty-two thousand seven hundred.

27Those encamping next to him are the tribe of Asher, and the prince of Asher's sons is Pagiel son of Ocran.

28His army and those mustered of them were forty-one thousand five hundred.

29The tribe of Naphtali, and the chief of the sons of Naphtali: Ahira son of Enan.

30His army and those mustered of them were fifty-three thousand four hundred.

31All those mustered in Dan's camp numbered one hundred thousand, fifty-seven thousand, and six hundred; they shall march last with their standards.

32These were the mustered from Israel's sons by their fathers' houses. All those mustered from the camps by their armies numbered six hundred thousand, three thousand, five hundred fifty.

33The Levites were not counted among the sons of Israel, as Yahweh commanded Moses.

34The sons of Israel carried out everything Yahweh commanded Moses. Accordingly they camped beside their standards, and likewise they journeyed, every man by his clans according to his fathers' house.
