Joshua 16

1The lot for Joseph's sons went out from the Jordan at Jericho to Jericho's waters on the east, through the wilderness ascending from Jericho into the hill country to Bethel.

2It went from Bethel to Luz and passed to the Archites' border at Ataroth.

3And it went down westward to the border of the Japhletites, to the border of lower Beth Horon, and to Gezer; and its outlets were at the sea.

4Joseph's sons, Manasseh and Ephraim, inherited their portion.

5This was the border of the sons of Ephraim according to their families: the border of their inheritance eastward from Ataroth-addar to upper Beth-horon.

6The border went out toward the sea to Michmethath on the north, turned eastward to Taanath-shiloh, and passed by it on the east to Janoah.

7It went down from Janoah to Ataroth and Naarath, reached Jericho, and went out at the Jordan.

8From Tappuah the border extended westward to the Kanah brook, and its outlets reached the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim according to their families.

9and the cities set apart for the sons of Ephraim within the inheritance of the sons of Manasseh, all the cities with their villages.

10They did not dispossess the Canaanites living in Gezer, but the Canaanites lived among Ephraim to this day and became forced laborers serving them.
