2 Chronicles 3

1Solomon began to build the house of Yahweh in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where he had appeared to David his father in the place David had prepared, Ornan the Jebusite's threshing floor.

2He began to build in the second month on the second day, in the fourth year of his reign.

3These are the foundations Solomon established for building God's house: sixty cubits long according to the first measure, and twenty cubits wide.

4The porch in front of the house matched the house's breadth at twenty cubits long and rose one hundred twenty cubits high; he overlaid the inside with pure gold.

5He paneled the great house with fir wood, overlaid it with fine gold, and set palm trees and chains upon it.

6He overlaid the house with costly stones for beauty, and the gold was Parvaim gold.

7He overlaid the house, the beams, the thresholds, its walls, and its doors with gold, and carved cherubim on the walls.

8He made the Most Holy Place, its length matching the house's width at twenty cubits and its width twenty cubits, then overlaid it with pure gold amounting to six hundred talents.

9The weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold, and he overlaid the upper chambers with gold.

10He made two cherubim of image work in the house of the holy of holies, and they overlaid them with gold.

11The length of the cherubim's wings was twenty cubits; one wing was five cubits, reaching the wall of the house, and the other wing was five cubits, reaching the wing of the other cherub.

12One cherub's wing extended five cubits to the wall of the house, and the other wing extended five cubits, connecting to the wing of the other cherub.

13The wings of these cherubim extended twenty cubits, and they stood on their feet with faces toward the house.

14He made the veil of blue, purple, crimson, and fine linen, and raised cherubim upon it.

15In front of the house he made two pillars thirty-five cubits high, and the capital on top of each was five cubits.

16He made chains in the inner sanctuary and set them on the tops of the pillars, and he made a hundred pomegranates and set them on the chains.

17He erected the pillars in front of the temple, one on the right and one on the left, and called the name of the right pillar Jachin and the name of the left pillar Boaz.
