1 Corinthians 13

1If I speak in tongues of humans and angels but have no love, I have become resounding brass or a clanging cymbal.

2And if I have prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

3And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and surrender my body so that I will be burned, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

4Love is longsuffering and kind; love does not envy; love does not vaunt itself, is not puffed up.

5does not behave unbecomingly, does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not reckon evil.

6does not rejoice at unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth.

7It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

8Love never fails, but whether there are prophecies, they will pass away; whether tongues, they will cease; whether knowledge, it will pass away.

9For we know partially, and we prophesy partially.

10But when the perfect comes, the partial will cease.

11When I was a child, I spoke as a child, thought as a child, reasoned as a child. When I have become a man, I have done away with childish things.

12For now we see obscurely through a mirror, but then face to face. Now I know partially, but then I will know thoroughly, just as I was also known thoroughly.

13But now faith, hope, and love remain—these three—but love is greater than these.
