Mark 16

Mark 15Luke 1

When the sabbath had passed, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so they might come and anoint him.

And very early in the morning on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen.

And they were saying to each other, "Who will roll the stone away for us from the tomb's door?"

And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away, for it was enormous.

And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right, wearing a white robe, and they were astounded.

He said to them, "Do not be terrified. You seek Jesus the Nazarene, the one crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him."

But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he goes ahead of you into Galilee; there you will see him, as he said to you.

They went out and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had gripped them; they told no one anything, because they were afraid.

After rising early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had driven seven demons.

She went and declared to those who had been with him, grieving and weeping.

And even they, having heard that he lives and had been seen by her, disbelieved.

After these things he appeared in another form to two of them as they journeyed on foot into the country.

And they went away and reported to the rest, nor did they believe them.

Later he appeared to the eleven themselves as they reclined, and he reproached their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen him risen.

And he said to them, "Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to all creation."

Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever disbelieves will be condemned.

And these signs will follow those who believe: in my name they will drive out demons; they will speak with new tongues.

They will take up serpents; even if they drink any deadly thing, it will not injure them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover well.

So then the Lord Jesus, after speaking to them, was taken up into heaven and sat at the right hand of God.

They went out and proclaimed everywhere, as the Lord worked with them and confirmed the word through the accompanying signs.
