Zechariah 13

1In that day a fountain will open for the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and impurity.

2In that day, declares Yahweh of hosts, I will erase the names of the idols from the land, and they will never be remembered again; I will also remove the prophets and the spirit of uncleanness from the land.

3When anyone prophesies again, his father and mother who bore him will say to him, "You shall not live, because you spoke falsehood in Yahweh's name," and his father and mother who bore him will pierce him as he prophesies.

4In that day the prophets will each be ashamed of his vision when he prophesies, and they will not wear a hairy garment to deceive.

5He will say, "I am no prophet; I am a man who works the ground, for a man bought me from my youth."

6Someone will say to him, "What are these wounds between your hands?" Then he will answer, "Those with which I was wounded in the house of my lovers."

7Awake, sword, against my shepherd and against the man, my companion, says Yahweh of hosts: strike the shepherd, and the sheep will scatter, and I will turn my hand against the little ones.

8In all the land it will happen, an oracle of Yahweh's mouth: two therein will be cut off and perish, but the third will remain in it.

9I will bring the third through the fire, refine them like one refines silver, and test them like one tests gold. They will call on my name, and I will answer them. I will say, "They are my people"; and they will say, "Yahweh is my God."
