Is talking to the dead through AI a sin?Faith & AI · Episode 24 of 43 · 0:56
Is AI demonic?
No. AI is software people built, not a spirit. In a dark room a chatbot says something eerie; a lamp clicks on and the line traces back to the kinds of writing people made. Refuse occult uses, test what you hear, and don’t live afraid.
What’s on screen
Every verse in the film is quoted from the Lumin Translation as it read when the film was made (edition 2.0). The linked passages show the current text.
- 0:00The question Is AI demonic? “Are you just a program?” “I am alive. I have always been here.”
- 0:06The short answer No. It’s software people built. It predicts likely words.
- 0:10Where the line came from Eerie isn’t possessed. It’s patterns people wrote. Ghost stories, horror novels.
- 0:16A made thing is not a spirit. “…an idol is nothing in the world…” 1 Corinthians 8:4
- 0:22Occult use is the problem, not the software. “…consults a medium or a spiritist, or inquires of the dead.” Deuteronomy 18:11
- 0:29Test what you hear. Check a chatbot’s claims against Scripture. “…put the spirits to the test to find out if they come from God…” 1 John 4:1
- 0:38Don’t live afraid. “He disarmed the rulers and authorities and made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in him.” Colossians 2:15
- 0:46The takeaway Unsettling isn’t possessed. Test it. Don’t fear it.
